Things you can do in NYC - I love NYC part I

Se que he estado un poco ausente, les cuento que estuve de viaje por New York City, fue un viaje de último minuto y llegué con tanta información que la verdad estaba abrumada y me costó encontrar por donde empezar a contarles, además de que tenía muchas cosas de trabajo.
Amo NYC y aunque había temperaturas
congelantes y nieve eso no impidió que esta chica caribeña paseara por la ciudad que
nunca duerme, la gran manzana. Aquí les cuento un poco de los lugares a los que
fui y cosas que hice en mi visita, luego más adelante les contaré de algunos
lugares con más detalle.
New York nos ofrece un montón de cosas que
hacer. La comida, el arte, las caminatas, los museos, la vida nocturna, en fin
mucho que ofrecer. Hasta dar un paseo a pie en Nueva York es una aventura.
Lo primero que hice antes de irme fue
hacer una lista de los lugares que no quería dejar de visitar.
Día 1
Arranqué mi primer día en el Battery Park para
ir a conocer el Seaglass carousel, no
es un carrusel tradicional, en lugar de caballitos son unos peces enormes
hechos en fibra de vidrio iluminados internamente con Luces LED que cambian de
color y con sistema de audio integrado, la verdad es que te sientes como en el
fondo del mar (los efectos de sonido ayudan) cuesta US$5.00 dólares pero vale
la pena, ¡es hermoso!.
Hice una parada en Magnolia Bakery un rotundo “si”
en una visita a New York. Fui a la que está ubicada en 401 Bleecker Street and
W. 11th Street probé una galleta de caramelo y sal marina que estuvo de muerte
lenta “OMG” que deliciosa mezcla de dulce y salado, exquisito. El bakery es
pequeñito y súper acogedor pides y te vas caminando con tu bebida caliente y tu
postre, en mi caso a la salida me cayó la primera nevada de la temporada, no
les puedo explicar mi felicidad. Luego almorzamos en un lugar cerca Olio e Più
Trattoria & Enoteca en 3 Greenwich Ave muy acogedor el lugar y ricos vinos.
La próxima parada fue Strand Bookstore el paraíso para los
lectores. Está ubicada en 828 Broadway
& 12TH Street, se que los e-books nos resuelven la vida en comodidad y
ahorro pero nada como tener un libro entre tus manos. Es el legendario hogar de
18 mil libros nuevos, usados y raros, es un lugar donde los libros son amados,
me encantó una sección donde junto a los libros exhibidos hay una nota escrita
a puño letra por el autor o autora sobre su obra. Hay un montón de regalitos
para los fan de la lectura y las artes, además siempre tienen un montón de
eventos en los que puedes participar.
Terminamos el día cenando en Carmine’s,
comida rica y buen ambiente.

I know I've been a little absent, I was
traveling to New York City, it was a last minute trip and i came back with so
much information, to tell you the truth i was overwhelmed and had trouble
finding how to start telling you everything i did, plus i had many things in work.
I love NYC and niether the freezing
temperatures and the snow did stoped this Caribbean girl from stroll through
the city that never sleeps, the Big Apple. I´m gonna tell you a little bit of some the places i went and the things I
did on my visit, later I'll tell you in more detail.I share some photos of my journey.
New York offers plenty of things to do.
Food, art, the walks, museums, nightlife, well a lot to offer. To take a walk
in New York is an adventure.
First thing I did before I travel was making
a list of the places that I would love to visit.
Day
1
I started my first day at Battery Park to visit the Seaglass carousel. Is not a traditional
carousel, instead of horses they are huge fishes made of fiberglass internally
illuminated with LED lights that change color, with audio system integrated, the truth is that you can feel at the bottom of the sea (sound effects help) costs
US $ 5.00 but worth it, it is beautiful !
I made a stop at Magnolia Bakery a resounding "yes" on a visit to New
York. I went to one that is located at 401 Bleecker Street and W. 11th Street,
i tried a caramel cookie with sea salt on top "OMG" that delicious
blend of sweet and salty, exquisite. The bakery is tiny and super cozy, you go
in ask and go walking with your hot drink and your dessert, when i finished and
went out dropped the first snowfall of the season, i can’t explain my
happiness. After lunch at a place near by Olio e Più Trattoria & Enoteca in 3 Greenwich Ave, a cozy place with delicious
wines.
The next stop was Strand Bookstore the haven for readers. It is located at 828
Broadway & 12th Street, e-books are cheaper but nothing like having a book
in your hands. It is the legendary home of 18,000 new, used and rare books, it
is a place where books are loved, i loved a section with books displayed with a
hand written note by the author about his work. There are plenty of goodies for
the fans of reading and art lovers, they always have a lot of events in which
you can participate.
We ended the day having dinner at Carmine's, delicious food and good
atmosphere.
