Tener un blog y ser autónoma - Having a Blog and being a freelancer

9/28/2018

Valentina Vaguada: freelancer, work, blogger, blog, blog life, lifestyle, designer, architect, wild and free

Valentina Vaguada: freelancer, free spirit, free soul, bohochic, bohemian style, lifestyle, designer, architect

Hi guys, today I'm going to share with you something personal, I really want to post more regularly, but having not only one but two blogs, working to be able to live, trying to launch a project with my sister (fortunately I have her) plus my personal life surpasses me, it's too much. I haven't found the magic formula to not go crazy and not get anxiety attacks, I often get discouraged when I see every crazy people being popular for any stupidity or people copying other bloggers and international instagrammers, because my sister and I try to be unique, in both blogs, as well as with our designs, we work hard, dedicate time and put a lot of love into what we do. Sometimes I also lose hope because I feel that my work is not getting out there and it's not reaching potential customers and buyers, sometimes I feel that what I do is lost.

I love what I do and I really enjoy sharing it but sometimes I think how is it that a clearly copied picture or worse a clearly stolen one get so many likes? when there are so many people creating original content and sharing their talents. A blog requires time, love and dedication so I am very grateful for those who enter here and La Lilú to read and find something that is useful and that inspires them to create or motivate them to live in a different way.

Starting your own business or becoming a freelancer is not an easy task, finding people who, although they don't know you, trust you as a professional even more difficult, nothing will be even close to being perfect and many things will not go as we expected. These months have been difficult and full of lessons, I learned to trust myself and believe in my talents and abilities, I cultivated my patience, I learned to let go and trust the processes. It hasn't been easy but it has been worth it. My friends, sometimes I'm running all the time going places and working hard sometimes I don't even have time to comb my hair, that I end up dead at night and I can barely read two or three pages of my current book. I confess that sometimes the frustration get to me and I feel that everything it's coming down but then I think about my final goal and I see a little light on the road.

If you are at the same place that I am, you are terrified and you don't see any light on your way, my advice is:

1. Create a good plan.
2. Trust and believe in yourself.
3. Let things flow.
4. Do not accept all the projects. This is difficult because sometimes you say I do not know if I will have jobs the following month but in reality not all the projects are made for you and will connect with your values.
5. Always provide quality service.
6. Show your work.
7. Do not be discouraged but be smart and analyze when you have to let go.

I hope that what I share with you today will be useful. Thank you for being here! We'll read each other soon...

Macreme Wall Hanging - Macremé Colgante de Pared

6/30/2018

Valentina Vaguada: macrame, wallhanging, home deco, boho style, cotton fabric, diy, macrame knots

¡Hola!

Macrame is back, And I had to make this trend mine. My mom made me take macramé classes when I was a teenager and who would have thought that it was gonna be a trend today. You should know that I didn´t remember any of the knots so I went to my friends google and youtube looking for help and started practicing.

That’s why I decided to share with you this Decor DIY using macramé knots and cotton fabric. The result is this beautiful wall hanging that would be perfect to use as a backdrop at a boho party or maybe as a boho chic wedding decor or just to hang in your home.

You will need:

Wooden Dowel

Cotton fabric

Scissors

Round Wood Beads

Instructions:

- Cut a thin strip of fabric 1 inch wide and as long as you need it. Remember that knotting the fabric makes the final Project much shorter.

Fold the strips in half and knot it around the wooden dowel. Repeat with each strip of fabric.

- Make a row of square knots then right underneath, Here’s a more complicated knot for you but after doing it two or three times you will see how easy it is.

Start with four strips of fabric. Bring the right strip over and to the left tow anchor strips. Place the left strip over the right strip, being the left strip under the anchors and through the loop formed by the right strip. Pull and you have your square knot.

- I added a second row of double-square knots starting two strips in from the edge to create more of a pattern.

- Then I use the same first strips and made half knots, the half knot worked with four strips. The two outer strips are the knotting strips and the two middle strips are the knot-bearing strips.

Bring the left strip to the right over the two knot-bearing strips and underneath the right knotting strip. Bring the right knotting cord to the left under the two knot-bearing strips and over the left knotting strip, pull to secure the half knot. As you work a sennit of half knots they will begin to naturally spiral.

- I repeated this knot with the inner strips in the second round of knots and made basic knots on the outside strips.

- I finished with the round Wood beads and knot the ends of the strips, cut what was left of the cotton strips and voilà!

Do you like macramé? Or wanna try this? Use the HT #valetosDIY so I can see it.

1/19/2018

Valentina Vaguada: wedding, trends, boda, tendencias 2018, flowers, copper, vintage, romantic, geometric design

Boda elegante

Photo: Hunter Leone Photography

Photo: Steve Steinhardt phptography

Arreglos florales colgantes

Photo: Fig tree wedding Photography

Photo: Eden Strader Photography

Wedding trends are constantly changing; there’s always some old favorites that make a spectacular come back, and others ‘new’ and unexpected. Some of the popular trends of 2017 may stay, but I’ve got for you here 9 of the best wedding trends for brides to try in 2018. Hopefully, you can find something to include in your planning…

An Elegant Wedding

If you have a large guest list this will be a great option. Here we go back to a classic and clean style with luxe design and pure romance; with candlelit ceremonies and receptions lit by crystal chandeliers, all of this beauty and romance will be sure to melt your heart.

Outdoor Wedding Venues

Photo: Leah Marie Photography

If you have a smaller and more intimate wedding planned, outdoor ceremonies are the perfect venue; this is especially so if you have a rustic/vintage theme in mind. This will be one of the hottest trends of 2018! And I personally love it!

Copper and Marble Decor

Photo: Immerse Photography

The typical silver & gold decor with traditional silverware are making way this year. Rather, we are going for copper and marble accents. In this modern combo, white marble accents in tandem with metallic copper details result in a beautiful and unique contrast that can turn your wedding tables into pure magic.

Hanging Wedding Florals

Photo: Jana Dillon Photography

Floral arrangements are one of the more beautiful elements of a wedding, and this year you can add a very cool twist to them by hanging them from the ceiling of your dance floor. Alternatively, they can be hanged just above the tables, or if you are having an outdoor wedding, maybe from a tree.

Geometric Shapes

Photo: Immerse Photography

Geometric shapes on your wedding cake. Yes! On your cake! I love this idea because you can add unexpected geometric shapes like terrarium vessels or little hexagons, or incorporate prism-shaped candle holders. You can also use a geometric backdrop for your ceremony.

High-Neckline Wedding Dresses

Magnolia Gown by Rosa Clara

A high-neckline is the standout option for brides who want a vintage feel or just a high fashion silhouette.

A Whimsical Wedding

Create your own theme inspired by a movie or a personal experience/memory. Use your imagination and the result is guaranteed to be original and unique.

An Original Seating Plan

Photo: Iloveswmag.com

I’m a fan of unique table seating plans and, having creative ways to guide your guests. There’s something appealing about using one-of-a-kind escort card ideas and displays that make seating assignments both mind-blowingly surprising and easy.

Neon Signs

Photo: Photo Wild Souls Studio

This is a wedding decor element that you can repurpose in your home as a statement piece. They could be custom-made neon signs with your names, a phrase, an inside joke or just a shape that goes with your theme. This can add a little fun to your ceremony or reception.
