A ponerse creativas.

If you follow me on social media, you may already know that I am concerned about the environment and that I love reusing and giving new life to different objects, so this time it will not be the exception, in April we celebrate World Dance Day, Earth Day and Creativity and Innovation Day so is the best occasion for this DIY that I wanted to do for so long.

I was a ballet dancer for a large part of my life and the truth is that dancers generate a lot of waste, the pointe shoes for example depending on the dancer can last one, two or three months of use after that we throw them away generating lots of garbage.

Today I bring to you an idea so we can give a new life to used ballet point shoes: Decorate and transform them representing each of the Classics ballets in which you have participated or perhaps your favourites ones, you can make a wall in your room with the collection or maybe use them as decorations for the Christmas tree.

We will need:

Ribbons

paper flowers

Spray paint

Decorative stones

Hot silicon

And any other element that can help.

You just have to start decorating the shoes with colours and ribbons according to the ballets that we are going to represent and that's it. Get creative!

Here I made one of "The Nutcracker" and another of La Bayadere.

• Cordón de algodón para macramé.
• Tinte para Tela.
• Ganchos para pendientes.
• Anillos.
• Pinzas de punta de aguja.
• Aguja e hilo.
• Pistola de silicona.

• Macrame Cotton cord
• Fabric Dye
• Earring hooks
• Jump rings
• Needle nose pliers
• Needle and thread
• Hot glue gun

First, you have to make three square knot chains with different lengths, one in each color to make your rainbows. If you don’t know how to do the chains you can learn with this video, it’s super easy!

Then glue the chains to each other using the hot glue gun. Take a small piece of cotton cord and sew it in the back of your rainbow.

Using your jewelry pliers, open the jump ring straight out, place the cotton cord through the ring and also through the ring a the bottom of the earring hook. Close the ring completely and violà! Now go make your own and spread rainbow love!

To complement this gift  I have teamed with La Lilú and we have designed these backup cards so you can place your earrings and give a unique and original gift. Download HERE.
