French Country Summer Table - Mesa de Verano Campestre Francés

7/19/2019

summer, table set, table setting, french country, lifestyle, brunch, party planner, verano, frances

Summers are such a great time to set the table and entertain. This summer I opted for a French blue, White and Yellow holiday table setting, with a french country spin. I love how cheerful blues and yellows are!

I wanted to give the impression of a country French picnic, that’s why a chose this yellow plaid fabric as a tablecloth, fresh flowers, and this beautiful crockery. I created a central pattern which when combined with the other elements make the story emerge. The result is incredibly unique, What I find so inspiring about this table set I show it can translate into so many different themes and ideas and I love centerpieces that fill up the table and using ítems that you can find in your own home or collect at thrift stores and flea markets is the best way to add personality to your table decor and not spend a lot of money.

Yellow placemats, yellow plaid tablecloth, white and blue crockery, blue roses, combined prints, fun accents and of course the best stationery created by La Lilú, go to the blog and download it!

Always save time to unwind and enjoy time with loved ones. I hope that you find inspiration today and you can share your creations with me, have a wonderful summer, friends!

¡Hola!

Hello! Today's DIY is loaded with memories of my childhood, our uncle Angel a.k.a. Tío Cuchito brought us matrioskas from Russia, my sisters and I loved them and we played with them all the time. They are beautiful and make the perfect theme for a birthday party or baby shower.

Matrioskas are the iconic Russian dolls, made of wood and they carry multiple dolls inside, the same doll in different sizes that fit one inside the other, although they are originally have from Japanese culture when you think about Russia you think about thier famous dolls.

In this post I am going to give you the step by step to make the most beautiful Matrioska piñata! Can it be more pretty and cooler?

Materials

Cardboard

Crepe paper (colors of your choise)

Scissors

Tape

Glue

Pencil

Knife

Cutting rule

Colored paper or paperboard

Flowers template

Cricut / Siluette (optional)

How to do it?

• Draw and cut the contour of the dall twice. And then cut two strips 2.5 inches wide and make slots with the blade to be able to adapt them to the shape of the dall.

• Start by gluing one of the strips to the sides of the dall with tape. When you finish, continue with the other side and then do the same with the second cardboard dall shape.

• Cut the crepe paper spacing 1.5 inches starting from fringe of the bottom, take this pieces and make cuts to ¾ of to the top of each one.

• Starting from the bottom of the piñata, stick the crepe paper strips to the cardboard doll and continue gluing layers making sure to overlap them so that the cardboard doesn’t show. Continue until everything is covered. I used two colors to give it the shape of the Matrioska.

• Finally cut and assemble the flowers to decorate, stick them with silicon.

Ready to fill your piñata with sweets and enjoy it, or simply use it as a decoration on the backdrop.

Ecofriendly Parties - Fiestas Ecoamigables

4/19/2019

Siempre puedes comprar tarros y tazas reutilizables y personalizarlos.

1. Organic Cotton Tote Bag 2. Eco-Friendly Bento Lunch Box 3. Bento Owl Box 4. Latex Conffetti Balloons 5. Reusable Drinking Straws 6. Bamboodlers dsposables Wooden Cutlery

Earth day it’s coming and you know that I am committed to being more responsible and take care of the environment as much as I can, that is why the projects I create I try to make them friendly to the environment, using products and materials as sustainable as possible.

Parties are a big deal and we always want to make our celebration special, but most of the times we go overboard with lost of money being spent on disposable crockery, decorations that will be used only for that day, little plastic toys, etc, etc, etc....

Since last year I decided to be more eco-responsible and eco-friendly and try to make the world a better place, as a party planner that’s what I offer to my clients you will have a special celebration and everything will be well thought and specially made for you and with sustainable standards.

Parties especially children’s birthdays' parties are one of the most consumerist events, that’s why today I want to talk about what steps we could take to create an event with less ecological impact.

The first thing we need to do is make clear that we don't need to have lots of guests, a small party with the people you really want to be there. The next thing will be taking a look at what we already have at home and ask if we can borrow additional ítems like chairs and tableware from family and friends. If you like to throw parties like me you might consider buying an additional set of reusable plates and cutlery, I love the bamboo ones, which you can reuse.

1. Lemon Napkin 2. Bright Terrazzo Napkin 3. Donut Plate 4. Baby Dots Canape Plates 5. Small Wooden Cake Stand 6. Galactic Napkins

For the kids' food, you can buy reusable cutlery and personalize toppers in different colors matching your theme so they can take home and use them on their lunch boxes, you can always use paper plates there are so many brands with gorgeous design and colors, paper cups too. You always can buy reusable jars and cups and personalize them. Silicone crockery for the kids it's a good idea too.

1. Party Rainbow Favor Backs 2. Stainless Steel Small Lunch Box 3. Disposable Wooden Cutlery 4. Latex Balloons 5. Llama Napkin 6. Heart shape Palm Leaf Plates Set

Decorations can be difficult but you can use banners with names and use them in their bedrooms, you can buy on ETSY some amazing personalize decor that you can use over and over made with natural materials, now we have biodegradable balloons ask for them, you can always do your own decoration using paper and personalize everything.

Another good Idea can be substitute gift bags for books and coloring books or you can use paper bags or cardboard boxes to put some candy and give every kid seeds and a pot so they can plant them and watch their plant grow.

1. Felt name Banner ETSY 2. Boho rainbow Felt Ball Garland
3. Felt name Banner ETSY 4. Bright flag garland ETSY

You can design an awesome invitation and sent it by email or give something useful as an invitation.

I believe "zero waste" it’s not real because we as living creatures produce natural waste every day but we definitely can minimize what we waste and be more responsible for what we do.

I’m sharing with you this list of articles that you can buy and transform your celebration to a very Green party.

Macreme Wall Hanging - Macremé Colgante de Pared

6/30/2018

Valentina Vaguada: macrame, wallhanging, home deco, boho style, cotton fabric, diy, macrame knots

¡Hola!

Macrame is back, And I had to make this trend mine. My mom made me take macramé classes when I was a teenager and who would have thought that it was gonna be a trend today. You should know that I didn´t remember any of the knots so I went to my friends google and youtube looking for help and started practicing.

That’s why I decided to share with you this Decor DIY using macramé knots and cotton fabric. The result is this beautiful wall hanging that would be perfect to use as a backdrop at a boho party or maybe as a boho chic wedding decor or just to hang in your home.

You will need:

Wooden Dowel

Cotton fabric

Scissors

Round Wood Beads

Instructions:

- Cut a thin strip of fabric 1 inch wide and as long as you need it. Remember that knotting the fabric makes the final Project much shorter.

Fold the strips in half and knot it around the wooden dowel. Repeat with each strip of fabric.

- Make a row of square knots then right underneath, Here’s a more complicated knot for you but after doing it two or three times you will see how easy it is.

Start with four strips of fabric. Bring the right strip over and to the left tow anchor strips. Place the left strip over the right strip, being the left strip under the anchors and through the loop formed by the right strip. Pull and you have your square knot.

- I added a second row of double-square knots starting two strips in from the edge to create more of a pattern.

- Then I use the same first strips and made half knots, the half knot worked with four strips. The two outer strips are the knotting strips and the two middle strips are the knot-bearing strips.

Bring the left strip to the right over the two knot-bearing strips and underneath the right knotting strip. Bring the right knotting cord to the left under the two knot-bearing strips and over the left knotting strip, pull to secure the half knot. As you work a sennit of half knots they will begin to naturally spiral.

- I repeated this knot with the inner strips in the second round of knots and made basic knots on the outside strips.

- I finished with the round Wood beads and knot the ends of the strips, cut what was left of the cotton strips and voilà!

Do you like macramé? Or wanna try this? Use the HT #valetosDIY so I can see it.
